"Shimekazari" is a sacred straw festoon which is hung over entraces at the New Year. I hang up it today. A crane and a tortoise are attached to it. Both are auspicious symbols of longevity.

The weather was not good at all today, but I could see "Houki Fuji" for the first time. Houki Fuji is the nickname for Mt. Daisen. Its appearance looks like Mt. Fuji from the direction of Matsue city.

This was the first time to visit Hiroshima. In front of the Atomic Bomb Dome, I couldn't move for a while.
