There are many Jizo statues along the approach to Daisen-ji temple. All are very old (some of them are broken), but wearing brand-new red bibs.

The snow crab season began November 6. In San-in district, the male is called "Matsuba gani" and the female is called "Seko gani". "Seko gani" is much smaller than "Matsuba gani", but it has brimful of eggs and we can get good broth from it. Today, my husband made paella with "Seko gani" for dinner.

The chrysanthemum exhibition will be held until Nov. 5 in front of Matsue Castle. There are many kinds of beautiful chrysanthemums, but unfortunately, some of them are still green. The above photo is small-flowered chrysanthemum bed in "Kengai" (or cascade) style. The exhibition will end before this bed's full bloom.
